“For years we have been working with many of the world’s finest big-twin tuners helping them win races, set records and make big power in dyno shootouts with our exhaust builds,” comments Vince Roman, Technical Director at Burns Stainless. “It became apparent that there were not any well-engineered stainless aftermarket systems available for these big engines, so we decided to offer a 2-into-1 system incorporating the famous Burns merge collector.”

 

 

Exhaust System Styles:

Velocity Scavenge Technology (VsT) – Our VsT system is our newest system intended for 121 cid to 135 cid Harley M8 builds.  The pipe is a 1-7/8”, to 2", to 2-1/8” OD primaries combined with a 3” collector and reverse cone This pipe is intended to maximize the area under the power curve and minimize low-rpm dead spots that larger exhaust may cause. This is an excellent choice for the new CVO-ST model. Our initial testing has shown a 15-hp gain with this pipe and Screaming Eagle tuner. The pipe will support builds with 190hp or more. The system is a floating design the incorporates uses our exclusive CNC stub system, oversized flange and aerospace locking nuts.

Burns Big Momma (BbM) – Our BbM system is designed to fit Milwuakee-8 engines with stock style cylinder heads at 135+ cid. The pipe is a 2”, to 2-1/8”, to 2-1/4” OD primaries combined with a 3” collector and reverse cone megaphone muffler. Our system uses the largest first step possible using the Harley port design. The system is a floating design that incorporates our exclusive CNC stub system, oversized flange and aerospace locking nuts.

Welded the Flanges (WtF) – The WtF is designed for the Ward Performance latest square port heads.  The flanges are welded to the primaries to maximize flow out of the cylinder heads. The system retains the stock mounting stud location and comes with our narrow fasteners to accommodate the big 2” pipe. The pipe is a 2”, to 2-1/8”, to 2-1/4” OD primaries combined with a 3” collector. This is normally used for the M8 Gen-1 cylinder heads. The Gen-2 "center-cooled" heads cannot typically be ported to take advantage of the full 1.875" inside diameter of the WTF system due to the cooling passages.

Mid Control Performance (McP) – The McP performance bagger system is built for riders who live for that track-ready power and precision. Designed for bikes with mid-controls, this system delivers where it matters. The 1-7/8” to 2” to 2-1/8” stepped pipes wind around the cam cover, hugging the engine and frame to give you the ground clearance you need to tackle those tight road racing curves with a stage one tubular muffler. (works well with canyon carvers too!)

With our X-design program behind it, this pipe is all about mid-range power, giving you that torque boost right when you need it most. We’ve also added our ultra-light exhaust muffler with a turnout—keeping your ride light and powerful. And when the packing finally gives out, don’t worry—the repackable muffler keeps your ears safe while delivering the same killer performance.
